Zehua Bao

Dr. Bao is currently a principal investigator at the Center for Synthetic Biology at Zhejiang University. He is also affiliated with ZJU-Hangzhou Innovation Center. Before coming to ZJU, Dr. Bao conducted doctoral research with Huimin Zhao at UIUC and postdoctoral research with Mo Khalil at BU. When not in lab, he can be found hiking in westlake surroundings.

Before coming to ZJU, Lei was mainly engaged in metabolic engineering and high-throughput screening of Corynebacterium glutamicum strains. Now he is applying his engineering skills in yeast genome editing. He has a wide range of hobbies such as playing MOBA games, reading, tweaking computers, traveling, and enjoying food.

Yetong graduated from the Hefei University of Technology majoring in Food Quality and Safety. In the undergraduate stage, Yetong did some research in performing genetic engineering of bacteria and yeast. She is now learning some synthetic biology technology in Bao Lab. She enjoys listening to music and painting in her spare time.

Xiaoxiao graduated from the College of Plant Protection of Qingdao Agriculture University with a bachelor's degree in 2012 and achieved her doctorate degree from College of Agriculture and Biotechnology of Zhejiang University in 2018. Xiaoxiao had worked in the Institute of Insect Science, College of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Zhejiang University as a postdoctoral fellow from 2019 to 2021. During her graduate and postdoctoral study, she mainly focused on the functional research of sphingolipid and its metabolic pathway. She is currently interested in developing tools for genome editing. Xiaoxiao enjoys her free time by reading, listening to music and jogging.

Lingjie Xu

Curious in gene editing, Lingjie is now engaged in learning relevant professional knowledge and experimental skills and more importantly, trying to look for her unique research direction. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing and participates in the school aerobics team.
